Commentary

Welcome to my web page.

It is sometime since I did an update, many things have happened in the interim and I will summarize a few major issues.

The Department of Energy has sanctioned and embarked upon a huge Manhattan 2 type project to design, develop and build new nuclear weapons over the next ten years. They are spending more on this project, euphemistically called "The Stockpile Stewardship Program", than at any time during the height of the Cold War - $4.5 billion per year. This project was endorsed by Clinton to placate Lawrence Livermore, Sandia and Los Alamos Labs when the Complete Test Ban Treaty - CTB was signed, so that the nuclear scientists could continue with their evil endeavors. They are still testing nuclear devices underground in Nevada, these are called subcritical tests because the plutonium does not actually reach critical mass, they are designing new nuclear weapons using highly sophisticated computers, and they are working on a pure fusion weapon which will invalidate any sort of arms inspection and verification process.

References can be obtained from the Natural Resources and Defense Council - 2022896868, and from Western Legal States Foundation - 5108395877, and from the Department of Energy, DC, from a publication called The Green Book. As the US therefore violates the letter and the law of the CTB, other countries will emulate the example set by America and will build and test their own bombs e.g. India and Pakistan. I predict that if this insane project is not stopped within ten years, at least ten more countries will have tested nuclear weapons, and that there will be a nuclear war somewhere in the world within the next twenty years, which could involve two small countries blowing each other up, or a full scale global nuclear war between Russia and the US, which would induce nuclear winter and the end of most life on earth.

To this end, the US still retains an arsenal of at least 12,000 nuclear weapons, including 50 MX missiles each armed with ten hydrogen bombs, 500 Minutemen 3 missiles each armed with three hydrogen bombs, and 18 Trident Submarines each armed with 480 hydrogen bombs ( enough on each sub to destroy every major city in the northern hemisphere). Meanwhile Russia which is now the repository for all the nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union and which is in a state of economic freefall and decay has 9,000 nuclear weapons, which are in a state of disrepair, and which could now be launched by accident or design.

There have been two major incidents in the last two years which almost by accident launched a full scale nuclear war between the US and Russia.
