Public awareness is vital to STAR's mission. As Americans, we have a voice, and that voice can shape public policy. Make your voice heard by joining STAR. We are proud of our accomplishments so far, but we have much more to do. We have launched a comprehensive public-awareness campaign, and we're privileged to be working with a top marketing and advertising firm to create a powerful, attention-getting TV, radio, and print advertising campaign. Along with editorial pieces and other media vehicles, these efforts will spread our message across the country. In just five years STAR's innovative work has been featured in such major outlets as CNN, NBC, ABC, National Public Radio, and programs such as "60 Minutes," and publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, USA Today, Newsday, People magazine, Science magazine, and many more. We will continue to reach out to communities and businesses to encourage their involvement in emergency planning and evacuation plans and to enlist their support for legislation under consideration in Congress. |
