This research will address the range of replacement power options for
nuclear reactors.

The Project will analyze and recommend near- and long-term energy replacement alternatives for nuclear reactors.

Criteria for replacement options include those that:
- Enhance public safety and environmental protection,
- Pose the least economic disruption, and
- Enhance energy efficiency and sustainable energy sources.

|
Major emphasis will be given to the Indian Point Power station, due to its proximity to New York City, and because of the major role that New York public power can play in replacement options.
